Security First & Associates (SF&A) is a trusted leader in industrial security consulting and compliance management. With decades of experience supporting defense contractors and government organizations, we help clients build, assess, and sustain programs that meet the rigorous requirements of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Central Intelligence Directives (CIDs), and Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) standards.

Leading Industrial Security & Compliance for More Than Two Decades

With over 25 years of extensive security experience in the defense industry and as an entrepreneur, Diane Griffin stands as the visionary founder and President of Security First & Associates, LLC (SF&A). Ms. Griffin’s profound expertise spans critical areas including training, physical security, information assurance, certification & accreditation, human resources, and industrial security management.

Her dedicated focus is on supporting government contractors across a diverse spectrum of verticals. Ms. Griffin’s leadership in the security community is evident through her role as Chapter Chair for NCMS: The Society of Industrial Security Professionals Chapter 26, which earned the prestigious Chapter of Excellence Award under her guidance. She has also been honored with the NCMS Society Award for her significant contributions.

At Security First & Associates, we believe that true security extends beyond facilities and clearances — it’s also about contributing to the safety and well-being of our community. We proudly support several organizations dedicated to improving lives and providing comfort to those in need.

  • Secure the Call: We collect used mobile phones and donate them to Secure the Call, a nonprofit that converts old cell phones into 911 emergency-only devices for at-risk individuals. Donated phones can be dropped off at collection boxes throughout the Baltimore–Washington area or sent directly to Security First for forwarding. Learn more at securethecall.org.
  • Luggage Tags, Bags & Bears for Foster Care: We help provide children in foster care with personal bags and comforting items, replacing the trash bags that so often hold their few belongings and restoring a sense of dignity and continuity in their lives.
  • House of Ruth: Since 2010, Security First & Associates has collected and donated toiletries to the House of Ruth in Baltimore, one of the nation’s leading centers supporting victims of domestic violence. Visit hruth.org.
